We are  pleased to announce the opening of Ira’s at the Gibson Inn.  Chef Ira Mittelman will bring his skill and passion to the restaurant by creating wonderful food influenced by his many travels. He has received many accolades and awards for bringing new world flavors to every dish.  He has collaborated with many wineries pairing his food with wines.  Remembering the atmosphere of large family dinners with his mother being an outstanding cook and father a master gardener, Chef Ira will bring that warmth & comfort to the dining room.  Influences in his food come from Napa Valley, Washington wine country and the Bahamas with an emphasis in using fresh local ingredients.  He hopes to take advantage of the abundance of fresh seafood here in the gulf.  He has cooked for and entertained many celebrities including Robert Redford, Michael Keaton, Ted Turner, Meg Ryan and Danny Glover.  Chef Ira will bring the ability, passion and charm that these entertainers and others have enjoyed to our dining room at the Gibson Inn.
