Located on the Gulf Coast of Florida, it is famed for its fresh seafood and was once known as the “Oyster Capital of the World.” Though oystering no longer drives Apalachicola’s economic engine, great oysters are still enjoyed at local restaurants and popular festivals, including the annual Florida Seafood Festival.
